- I am trying to install a 24X on my 386/33 machine.
- Machine Specs:
- 386/33 with 8MB
- Adaptec 1542B SCSI Adapter
- AMI BIOS with 0 wait state
- Shadow RAM enabled.
-
- Speedstar set to factory default:
- IRQ2 enabled, 0 wait state ... etc.
-
- config.sys : himem.sys and emm386 (with 'noems' option)
-
- The Problem:
- I am attempting to run windows in 800x600 with 32K colors.
- But it crashes ... error --> "Cannot load GDI.EXE"
-
- It is able to run fine in 800x600 16 color mode.
-
- If I try to run Windows (800x600 32K colors) in 'standard' mode,
- it comes up with the program manager ... but it displays errors
- when trying to display the Groups.
- error: "The Group xxxx.grp is corrupted ... do you wish to
- recreate it ?"
- I know the file is not corrupted. So what gives?
-
- There appears to be an address conflict.
-
- Help !!
-
- An e-mail would ne appreciated.
