- Hi! I realize that the answer to my question has probably been
- posted in the last couple months, but I can't find it anywhere at seq.uncwil.
- I have a homemade hp48 to DB-25 serial connector. The cable has been tested
- with my hp48 and another IBM PC clone, and it DOES work (used mskermit 312).
- I am, however, having trouble with my current setup:
-
- Tandy 1200HD (pause to let laughter and catcalls die down)
- "new" serial card configured as COM1, IRQ4, at \x03f8
- Have kermit and procomm
-
- I can put the PC into a terminal mode and type strings that the hp48 will
- receive through the sequence: BUFLEN DROP SRECV. When the hp48 is in server
- mode it will accept a FINISH command from the PC, but the PC hangs as if it is
- waiting for an acknowledgement of the FINISH command. I tried using XMIT to
- send a string from the hp48 to the PC. The hp48 claims successful transmission
- (it returns 1 to the stack), but I get nothing on the PC end.
- I suspect that I need to tie some pin on the PC end to ground or +5V,
- but I don't remember which one. Right now TX is going to RX and vice versa, and
- the signal grounds and chassis grounds are connected. Also, the hp48 passed the
- serial loop-back test.
-
- Any/All help welcome
