- It turns out this is a known problem which has been fixed in 9.0.
- On a 8.0 system the 0xA6 (broken bar) character was generated, on
- a 9.0 system the 0x7c ("pipe") character was generated. We verified
- this here this morning.

- In the meantime, before you update, here are some suggestions
