- Thanks to everyone who replied. I believe I probably screwed up on
- the ASCII translation when downloading the files to my '41. Stupid,
- didn't see the most obvious answer. The tips about LZH and LHA
- are well-taken, though, it's useful to check the files out first.

- Essentially I convert my files by locally ftp'ing them to a resident
- hard drive connected to our computer network, then copy them to
- floppy. I then give the floppy files to a friend who has an MS-DOS
- machine so I can dial him up and transfer them to my drive from
- remote. Complicated, but a seven-bit, eight-bit connection problem in the
- hardware of the university's modems makes kermit transfers impossible
- (at least in the direct sense). It's recently been fixed, so I
- hear, so hopefully this is the last time I'll have to deal with
- this.
