- And, apparently, 90% of the people in comp.sys.atari.st who haven't
- already left for another platform, don't mind waiting hours for
- compiles, while they can't do anything else.
-
- Over the past two years, I've been looking at all the things that are
- available for the other platforms. It's _nice_ to be working on
- something in a nice word processor, and be able to pop open a CLI
- window, type a few commands, compile something, etc, switch back to the
- WP while it continues compiling, load up another program to work on a
- graphic while everything keeps going, etc etc.
-
- MiNT won't cut it... The ST is much too slow for multitasking. Just
- try running GNU C over some code in the background with MiNT...
- Suddenly your 4M is gone and you can't even load ps to see what's going
- on. The ST wasn't designed for that sort of abuse. MiNT is an
- _awesome_ thing, to be able to multitask effectively on this sort of
- hardware.
