- Simon:
-
- I'm pretty sure I'm not running TOS 1.0; the machine is a MEGA STE, with
- 4 meg of RAM, and a 50 meg hard drive partitioned into C: and D:, and
- is only a year old. I'll verify it when I'm back near the machine.
-
- In the meantime, this is what I did.
-
- Un-ZOO'd DISK1.ZOO to a floppy, and used it as the install disk. On
- that disk was a program called SETUP, and a program called INSTALL. I
- ran SETUP, using D: as the root, and A: as the install drive. I saved
- the configuration. SETUP renamed my ACC's and my \AUTO\*.PRG's, and
- then moved MINT.PRG to the AUTO folder, and moved MINIX.XFS, and
- MINT.CNF, and three other CNX'x to the MINT folder. SETUP then
- requested me to RESET (Reboot?).
-
- Rebooted the computer. MINT runs. MINIX runs. When MINIX runs, and I
- get the MINIX initial message, the floppy drive light comes on. When
- the system finishes booting, the floppy disk is no longer readable. In
- fact, accessing the floppy drive hangs the system. This is where I
- believe that the floppy has been turned into a MINIX partition. If I
- write-protect the floppy, it remains readable, but the light still comes
- on when MINIX runs. It doesn't appear that anything has been done to
- D:. I believe it is still a TOS partition.
-
- Any of this look wrong?
-
- Regards,
-
- Mike.
