  12. I'm having some annoying problems with the new SuperDrive controller card I just
  13. installed in my GS.  The first strange thing I noticed was that familiar
  14. ticking sound that is heard when in the finder is now heard all the time from
  15. the second I turn on my GS.  I guess that's ok since the drives connected to 
  16. the card work ok (just annoying).

  18. Secondly, and most important, I installed the card in slot 5 as recomended by
  19. the owner's guide.  I of course switched the control panel setting for slot
  20. 5 to "your card".  I have a high density SuperDrive as the first drive to the 
  21. card, and an older apple 3.5" 800k drive daisy chained to the SuperDrive.
  22. The problem is that now my ramdisk no longer remaps to slot 2 drive 1 with
  23. the new controller card, and thus it is inaccessible.

  25. What do I need to do to get the ramdisk back.  If I switch the cont panel to
  26. smartport (disabling the card) the ramdisk appears again.  Is there anyway
  27. to get the ramdisk to remap to slot 2 drive 1 like before?  I don't have any
  28. other slot available except for slot 5 because I also have a 5.25 connected to
  29. the port which maps to slot 6, and I have a hard drive in slot 7, so I'd
  30. really like to keep this card in slot 5.
