  13. about uploading to the unix!

  15. I am now able to upload with Z-modem, and it was through using
  16. a combination of several people's advices.

  18. This is what I did, and hopefully this will help others out there
  19. who can't upload (Steve, maybe this will help you.)

  21. what I did was at the "csi-ts2>" prompt (this varies from
  22. machines to machines/server to server, but it's the name on my end)

  24. csi-ts2>term download
  25.  
  26. csi-ts2> term no escape
  27. <BREAK> is the escape character
  28. csi-ts2> term flow hard out
  29.  
  30. a simple local macro can be written with Proterm 3.0, so all you need
  31. is to run it everytime you connect.  The macro is:

  33. pr /term download^M term no escape^M term flow hard out^M/
  34.  
  35. I've tried "term download" and "term flow hard out" before, but
  36. apparantly the escape character thing was what did it.  Special

  39. Oh, term no escape mean "terminal no escape-character".  The old
  40. setting was "^^X", which Brendan said is not good for uploads.
  41. "term flow hard out" is terminal flowcontrol hardware out.  the
  42. standard setting upon logon is flowcontrol software out, hardware
  43. in.

  45. And to login to the machine (called bonnie), instead of typing
  46.  
  47. csi-ts2>bonnie

  49. directly, which is using telnet, I typed
  50.  
  51. csi-ts2>c bonnie

  53. I don't know what the "c" command does (perhaps same as rlogin?)
  54. but rlogin doesn't work properly.  (the "c" was suggested by Tero,

  58. with ymodem-G :-)
