  16. The answer is yes. I do it, and so do other people I know.
  17. There are scary warnings with the tapes that doing so may cause
  18. excessive head wear on the drive and that it is a bad idea to go back
  19. and forth between 150 and 250M tapes. The warnings are not to be taken
  20. lightly. Once you're aware of the downside/risks, it's your choice.

  22. 500M tapes are right out. They're a different density.
