- Does the current revision of AGA chip set have a byte mode display format.
- Sorry if this an old question. Months ago, before AGA machines were generally
- available, several post specs. indicated that AGA could operate in either bit
- planed or byte mode. I am currently experimenting with some graphics
- operation that would simplified if a byte mode was available. I sure writers
- of PC emulates would love a byte mode to support VGA emulation simply.
-
- If there is a byte mode it does currently show up in the display database, but
- this proves nothing as modes like SUPER-HIRES (PAL or NTSC) wouldn't show up
- if PAL/NTSC monitor types were not installed. Therefore, if there is a byte
- mode a new monitor type will be required to drive it (I Think, Therefore I'm
- Probably Wrong).
-
- Any clues?
-
- Thanks
