  19. I found the same thing trying to fit a Seagate 296N in there.  It was
  20. just barely (1/4"?) too long to go in, and nothing I could do without
  21. damaging my computer would get it to go in.  I managed to get an Archive
  22. DAT unit in there, but only by cutting off the back end of the plastic
  23. part of the SCSI connector - otherwise it was about 1/8" too long.

  25. The problem seemed to be that the back of the 5 1/4" device would hit
  26. metal grating over part of the power supply, or maybe the power supply
  27. itself.
