- I have an A1200HD attached to a Mitsubishi Diamondscan 1371A. Therefore, I
- feel obligated to explain my opinion about the setup.
-
- The 1371A meets immediate approval with everybody because it has a seperate
- composite input just like the 1084! Yeaahhh! It's a BNC style connector.
- (No big deal; just get the $2.49 adaptor at Radio Shack.) But the
- analogue/composite switch is on the back of the monitor (not the front
- like as in the 1084.) Booo!
-
- Anyways, the 1371A is one of the few multisynch monitors capable of 15khz.
- This makes it real popular with Amigans. However, to the best of my
- knowledge, this monitor is discontinued and has been replaced with one
- that does not sync down to 15khz. :^(
-
- The monitor is not capable of all AGA modes. The monitor resolution
- is 800x600. So it has trouble with the ultra-high rez screens. BTW, I
- am only beginning to experiment, but enjoy a fairly solid DBLNTSC:640x400
- screen which looks great. ;^) The dot pitch is .31mm (to those of you
- who are interested.)
-
- Well how does one get a hold of one of these babies? I bought one for
- $259 from a place in Indio, CA called Source Electronics (I think that was
- the name of the place.) There is an old posting in c.s.a.marketplace
- giving the full details about this great deal. Wait let me go see if I
- can find it... Sorry, can't find it. eMail me if you need the phone
- number of this place posted here.
-
- One side note about this place. A friend of mine also took 'em up on the
- $259 offer. Both of the monitors we received appear to have been used.
- No big deal though; they're in perfect shape -- no case or glass scratches,
- no phosphor etching, etc, but they appear used nonetheless.
-
- Sorry I can't offer more info about using this monitor with the A1200
- (AGA chipset.) I have only had my A1200HD for a day now (Yes! Yes! Yes!)
- and have been satisfied with the results. I am still fiddling with making
- this machine and monitor give an acceptible display of games. Anything
- that boots itself up has bothersome black edges. It looks like a damn
- clone! I can fiddle with some knobs but always have a black strip on the
- left side. :^( (Oh no! Not the bothersome black strip! AHHHHH!)
