  11. Hi Martin,  sorry to interject here, but I was wondering if you have any
  12. CONCRETE information as to release and pricing information for the expansion
  13. modules for Opalvision.  I just purchased it a week or so ago, not realizing it
  14. wouldn't work with my DCTV, and the digitizing module is not available yet 
  15. *SOB* :-( .

  17. I wanted to get one for a fine arts exhibit at the Orland Park Civic Center,
  18. but that's the last week in January, and from what Centaur has told me, first
  19. it would be Mid January, now February or March.  I would rather use the
  20. Opalvision than unplug it and use the DCTV (for one thing, the DCTV is not
  21. real-time).  I am an artist who uses this computer for business (ok, I have
  22. some fun on it too) and I cannot really afford to stop producing work.

  24. Also, I am starting an art gallery and use Pagestream a lot for doing flyers
  25. and things, and I was wondering if there is any way to get previews of DTP
  26. files on the Opalvision screen in full color (16 colors isn't enough when
  27. you're trying to do professional work, not to mention that the hardware is
  28. already there and waiting to be taken advantage of).

  32. BTW- what exactly will happen if you plug in a DCTV?  Will it just not work or
  33. will it blow out a chip or what? DCTV might Come in handy for doing less
  34. memory-intensive anims (not that I'm saying your Opalvision isn't a GREAT piece
  35. of equipment, which it is).  How about a HARDWARE JPEG compressor/decompressor?
  36.  Waiting for JPEG really sucks, but 24 bit IFF takes up a lot of room.
