- ((A short summary of my ANIM-Splitter Quest))

- Yes, got that, thanks to Dave Wickard, who claims he got it from Portal.
- (Buster2.lzh) It's a Director II script ("film" actually) written by
- Bradley W. Schneck. One cool thing about it is that if the disk it's
- saving on fills up, it will pop up a requestor asking you for another
- path to store the rest. Works great under WB2.1. Thanks Bradley!
-
- I was also handed a program called "SplitANIM" which breaks an ANIM file
- into two halves (you specify the frame to split on). This appears to be a
- part of the oft-mentioned Cryogenic Tools, written by Michael W. Hartman
- (the author of View). Also worked fine (in Lores at least) under 2.1.

- Nope, there's nothing in the Preferences about it. I've found out that
- *sometimes* it asks you if you want the palette locked, sometimes it
- doesn't. Worse than that, even when you tell it to lock the palette,
- it doesn't. Not on the 32-color ANIM I rendered anyway....

- I guess you could also just setup a 'fake' first frame, with all of your
- objects showing in it, and skip putting it in the animation. (IF Imagine
- would actually lock the palette....)
-
-
- In case you're wondering... all this work is for the opening sequence
- to "STAR HECK: The Next Degeneration." Coming soon to a Public
- Access cable channel near you (if you live in the S.F. Bay Area)!!
-
-
- Something else my rummaging found: a program that creates uncompressed
- animations, with sound, and plays back from disk. "AGMSMakefilm" it's
- called. The Digital Creations BBS has it (916/983-3288 in Calif.) The
- filename there is "AGMSPF.LZH". I've only done a quickie Lores test,
- but it worked fine... could have the potential to be *just* what some
- people here (myself included) are clamoring for!
