- Speaking of `term' v2.3 (and successive releases), once the `check carrier'
- feature is enabled `term' should be watching the carrier signal bit as
- supplied by the currently selected serial device driver. The signal bit is
- checked once every second. Old program releases would test the carrier
- signal bit only when the user would select the `hang up' menu item.

- If you consider the `hang up' command to be slow compared to the
- `release serial' command, clear the `hang up' command string (see modem
- settings) and enable the `check carrier' switch (see serial settings),
- save the configuration file and update the phone book configurations.
