- My connection to the Usenet is via a machine that does not have the
- proper hardware to allow a full 8 bit connection remotely. This
- means that all the regular file transfer protocols (Xmodem, Ymodem,
- Zmodem, etc) do not work and cannot be used to transfer files.
-
- I have heard that Kermit allows the transfer of 8 bit files over a 7 bit
- line, in a method similar to uuencoding. However, I cannot seem to get
- this to work with Ckermit on my Unix machine and XPRkermit on my Amiga.
- I am using Term 2.4a.
-
- Does anyone know how to get this to work, or another file transfer protocol
- that will allow me to transfer files between these two machines? Any
- help would be deeply appreciated.
