  12. My connection to the Usenet is via a machine that does not have the
  13. proper hardware to allow a full 8 bit connection remotely.  This
  14. means that all the regular file transfer protocols (Xmodem, Ymodem,
  15. Zmodem, etc) do not work and cannot be used to transfer files.

  17. I have heard that Kermit allows the transfer of 8 bit files over a 7 bit
  18. line, in a method similar to uuencoding.  However, I cannot seem to get
  19. this to work with Ckermit on my Unix machine and XPRkermit on my Amiga.
  20. I am using Term 2.4a.

  22. Does anyone know how to get this to work, or another file transfer protocol
  23. that will allow me to transfer files between these two machines?  Any
  24. help would be deeply appreciated.
