  19. Glenn is quite right, as usual.

  21.   But to prevent misunderstanding, folks should realise that for the
  22. last several hundred years Vietnamese has been written using only
  23. romanised letters and a small number of diacritical marks (Quoc Ngu as
  24. distinguished from the former Chu Nom scheme).  Modern Vietnamese is
  25. not an ideogrammatic language at all.
