- The subject line pretty much says what I'm after. I'm trying to put
- together a *very* basic text to speech engine. What this requires
- is a dictionary to convert from a latin alphabet to a phonetic
- alphabet, and digitized samples of spoken phonemes (I believe there
- are 39 in English).
-
- I've sort of inferred that I'd like English -> Phonetic, and that's
- true, but I'll gladly take any language I can get. And, of course,
- the longer the dictionary, the better.
-
- All of the above failing, I'd be interested to see a list of the
- 5000 or so most used words in the English (or any other) language.
-
- Please send responses directly to me, and I'll post a summary. I
- also intend to make the sources available when the text to speech
- engine is complete.
-
- Thanks in advance,
-
- Steve
