- It would seem that the random number generator used to 'decide' when to
- transmit a packet in the TNC would render it useless for realtime ops.
-
- You may have to resort to getting the ROM source code from TAPR, modify
- it to disable the 'Slottime' (?) randomness and burn new roms. I don't
- know about the legallity of this 'mode' on Amateur frequencies, but I'm
- sure it'd be impolite to other stations on freq.
-
- My original idea of using a TNC for this kind of work involved using
- either NON-amateur freqs, (are the liscence free RC freqs for type accepted
- equiptment only?) or the experimental subbands (on 6 and 2 meters?) recog-
- nized by the ARRL band plan.
-
- However, before doing ANY of this, I'd check with the ARRL or FCC on the
- legallity of such experimental operation.

- Check your manual on how to set the 'slottime'. It has very much to do with
- the random number generator in the TNC.

- P.S. Sorry I hacked this article up so much. I must have missed the original.
