- The reference I have is the book XTP: THE EXPRESS FILE PROTOCOL
- by W. Timothy Strayer, Bert J. Dempsey, & Alfred C. Weaver,
- Addison-Wesley Publishing Co., 1992. XTP is a protocol used in
- fiber optic to allow for very high speed, real-time networking
- at speeds upto 100 Mbit/sec with a gigabit/sec expected soon.
- This network has been pioneered by Greg Chesson at Protocol
- Engines Inc. and is being studied at several universities.
- Due the the speed it is implemented on silicon as the PE1000
- chip set, it is (will be?) available from Protocol Engines Inc.
-
- NOTE: The XTP Definition is in the public domain and is available via
- email at xtp-request@pei.com
