  12. I have found while using ethernet analyzers on Sun workstations
  13. that they do not report the packets from the same host that they
  14. are running on.  For example, the command:
  15.  
  16.         etherfind host toadflax
  17.  
  18. should report all packets TO and FROM toadflax; however, if I am
  19. running the analyzer on toadflax, I only see packets TO toadflax.
  20. None of the packets FROM toadflax are reported.
  21.  
  22. Apparently a Sun cannot read the packets that it is writing to
  23. the network.  I have two questions regarding this:
  24.  
  25.     1) Is this common with most/all workstations (non-Suns)?
  26.     2) Is there a patch so the Sun can read it's own packets?
