- I am a bit confused about the relationship between the CM stencil
- library and the (newer?) slicewise compiler option. The CM stencil
- library uses a slicewise representation, but is it compatible with
- the slicewise compiler?

- If not, then I suppose that a finite difference code that makes
- extensive use of stencils will probably run quite a bit faster under
- Paris (with stencils) than under the slicewise compiler. Is this
- a reasonable conclusion?
