-
- Complete nonsense. The ARPANET was the precursor to what we now call the
- Internet. As such, ARPANET no longer exists. Now, in order to give a
- _useful_ answer, we need _useful_ information:
-
- o What, precisely, are you trying to do? Is there a specific address you
- want to reach? Addresses ending in .ARPA are virtually guaranteed to be
- obsolete.
-
- o What kind of error message did you get, and what did you do to get it?
-
- You know, I have a phone message slip tacked to the bulletin board in my
- office. It's from one of the places we support, and I consider it to be
- the canonical useless problem report. All it says is "it's not working."
- No clue as to what is not working, or why, or how, or ANYTHING that would
- aid in problem diagnosis.
-
- DATA, blast it. We need DATA. Or maybe more aspirin.
