  14. Ok, this might be of use to someone and I hope I've got my facts right or
  15. I'll disappear in crackling blue flames of at least 10 megaehuds in power.

  17. One of our customers just bought VMS/SNA and two DPV-11s for his VAX 4100.
  18. On loading up VMS/SNA we get a bugcheck when we try and turn the SNA line on
  19. (in SNANCP). The bugcheck is ASYNCHRONOUS MEMORY WRITE ERROR and the image
  20. running is LES$ACP. The version of VMS is V5.5-2HW.

  22. We also get the same bugcheck when he tries to run a third-party package which
  23. has its own DPV-11 driver (thats why there's two, see?), only the image running
  24. is the third-party package DPV-11 driver. Theres not a conflict because we can
  25. reproduce the bugcheck running either package up without the other.

  27. We get on to our friendly Digital Customer Services person who connects us with
  28. the SNA group in the UK. Seems like theres a known problem with SYSGEN loading
  29. third-party drivers, on a 4100. Now, the third-party package driver is
  30. understandable but a DPV-11 with UHDRIVER is not what I'd call a "third-party
  31. item" but what the hell...

  33. Any way, we got the patch along with a new version of VMS/SNA, I think 2.1-3
  34. (definitely called SKIT03 anyway). The patch is CSCPAT1024 and they fixed the
  35. problem - both packages worked perfectly.
