- Hi -
-
- I've received a new version of a program from a vendor which is meant to
- run on a workstation or X-terminal in order to display a window in which
- various graphics are shown. When I try to use the program in X-window mode
- (it also has a non-X, no graphics mode so I suspect the program itself is
- ok) I get a (vendor supplied) "Can't open Display" message, along with the
- following:
-
- %NONAME-E-NOMSG, Message number 01AB8122
- %NONAME-E-NOMSG, Message number 011B803A
-
-
- Neither of these messages are in any .EXE in SYS$MESSAGE that I can find
- (using one of the nice message display .COM files).
-
- So,
-
- 1) What is the text/facility of these messages?
-
- 2) If not obvious from the message text, what might be the
- problem?
-
- It was suggested by the vendor that maybe I needed Motif; that these might
- be Motif error messages (they weren't sure!!). I'm running VMS 5.4-2 on a
- 4000-300, with two VT1300/SPX terminals (using DECwindows of course).
-
- If I do need Motif (and why this is so I don't really know, at least as I
- understand the differences between Motif wm and the DECwindows wm), is
- there anything they can do to provide an image which will run with
- DECwindows (short of doing the compile/link on a different system).
-
- Thanks for any insight...
-
- Mike
