- Dearest kind souls! Free at last! I've been away from the network too long!
-
- I have a problem with using a DECServer 550 CXY08 (8 port modem control)
- as a direct asynch computer<-->computer link. The damn port attempts
- to login to my system even though the port access is set REMOTE. Here
- is the DECServer setup:
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Local>show port 69
-
- Port 69: Link Server: OSPREY
-
- Character Size: 8 Input Speed: 9600
- Flow Control: Disabled Output Speed: 9600
- Parity: None Modem Control: Disabled
- Stop Bits: Dynamic
-
- Access: Remote Local Switch: None
- Backward Switch: None Name: LC-5-5
- Break: Disabled Session Limit: 1
- Forward Switch: None Type: HARD
-
- Preferred Service: None
-
- Authorized Groups: 0
- (Current) Groups: 0
-
- Enabled Characteristics:
-
- Dialup, Limited View, Loss Notification, Remote Modification, Security
- Verification
-
- And the device LC5 is setup as:
-
- Local>show device lc5
-
- Device name: LC5 Device Type: CXY08
-
- Slot - 7 Port List: 65- 72
- CSR address: 160540 Hardware Rev: 00071.00077
- Vector: 350
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Now I will admit the program reading and writing to this port exits and
- reenters an image frequently so the port isn't necessarily connected at
- all times, but that shouldn't matter (right?) because of the way the access
- is set. I'm convinced its a VMS, LAT, or DECServer bug. Version of VMS is 5.5-1
- and the DECServer 550 is using C2.1 LAT5.1 ROM V2.0.1.
-
- Love and kisses...
