- Well, wait a minute. With that first generation of uVAX-IIs, using the TK50
- was just *ASKING* for trouble.
-
- By the way, on the system I was describing, doing a SHOW/UNIBUS resulted in the
- screen being divided about halfway down, and the bottom was a mirror image of
- the top.
-
- On this particular system, the windowing hardware did its own memory
- management, and expected VMS to leave the memory it was using alone; It did
- this, of course, via the PHYSICALPAGES SYSGEN parameter. Installing any of
- about 3 other layered products managed to foul up MODPARAMS.DAT so that AUTOGEN
- set PHYSICALPAGES wrong. Truly a dark day for VMS.

- Disclaimer: Hey, I understand VAXen and VMS. That's what I get paid for. My
- understanding of astronomy is purely at the amateur level (or below). So
- unless what I'm saying is directly related to VAX/VMS, don't hold me or my
- organization responsible for it. If it IS related to VAX/VMS, you can try to
- hold me responsible for it, but my organization had nothing to do with it.
