- Greetings!
-
- I am trying to identify the problems that are considered to be the key
- problems in the area of Network Management, going beyond the ones solved by
- CMIP, DME, and SNMP etc. In particular I am focusing attention on fault and
- performance management issues at the transport layer. I would
- like to hear from people who are working in the related areas
- or have some experience and/or ideas on the topic that they would like to
- share.
-
- The problems of interest for example, could be related to :
- - abstractions used to describe the system
- - protocol design, specification, and validation techniques
- - modelling and statistical techniques
- - framework for dealing with incomplete and erroneous information
- on problems
- - gathering and analyis of problem related data
- - automation of detection and recovery
- - design of suitable interfaces to aid discovery, diagnosis and
- recovery
-
- I would prefer any feedback via e-mail. I shall post a summary
- of the information thus collected.
-
- Thanks for your help.
