  16. I am trying to identify the problems that are considered to be the key
  17. problems in the area of Network Management, going beyond the ones solved by
  18. CMIP, DME, and SNMP etc.  In particular I am focusing attention on fault and
  19. performance management issues at the transport layer. I would
  20. like to hear from people who are working in the related areas
  21. or have some experience and/or ideas on the topic that they would like to
  22. share.

  24. The problems of interest for example, could be related to :
  25.         - abstractions used to describe the system
  26.         - protocol design, specification, and validation techniques
  27.         - modelling and statistical techniques
  28.         - framework for dealing with incomplete and erroneous information
  29.           on problems
  30.         - gathering and analyis of problem related data
  31.         - automation of detection and recovery
  32.         - design of suitable interfaces to aid discovery, diagnosis and
  33.           recovery
  34.
