- I've communicated with Robert Cain through email a couple of months ago.
- He is a real decent guy and is full of energy. Through our exchange
- of messages, I found that he, though equipped with sarcasm, was always
- willing to get things right and clear, even to a non-American like me.
- He isn't the type whining alot.
-
- Based on the impression, I believe that he should have be going through
- a very long period of frustration dealing with IBM. Jeff is right.
- The most urgent thing is to encourage IBM to do anything legal to
- bring Robert back if IBM does want the support of developers. Note
- that the single event occurring to Robert may be very serious to IBM's
- image. We may blame Robert for being naive when dealing with some
- guy in IBM without writing anything down. The fact is, how could you
- expect a software developer to know everything about the future trouble.
-
- As a Taiwanese, I feel very sad since what Robert did was to respect the
- words of somebody in charge of DAP. IBM should be responsible for
- such a thing if it wants to keep its image.
-
- The unfortunate event occurring to Robert is very messy now, and I hope
- that anybody SHOULD NOT take advantage of the situation to raise another
- thread of OS/2 vs. NT nonsense. Nobody can insure that Microsoft won't
- do the same thing to Robert. I sincerely hope that Robert won't be hurt
- the second time.
