  13.     OS/2 2.0 like any other OS, is prone to having text messages
  14.     edited. :)

  16.     The most offending text to me is the help for Lockup.  It's bad
  17.     enough that you can't lockup up on boot, but telling "someone"
  18.     to reboot the computer if they don't know the password.  Come
  19.     on ...  (Luckily, password on boot is provided in OS/2 2.1.)

  21.     Anyways, I used "pmseek" to find the file that contained the
  22.     "offending" text.  I then used "beav-2", to replace text in
  23.     the file.  (The file with the lockup text is
  24.     "\os2\dll\pmwpmri.dll" by the way.)

  26.     Beav-2 can be found at "ftp-os2.nmsu.edu".

  28.     Make sure you back up the file you edit.

  30.     Also, if the file you're using is in use by the system, copy
  31.     it, edit the copy, reboot from disk and replace the file with
  32.     its copy.
