- Just a bit of feedback about using the ATI Wonder with the Trident drivers-
- so far pretty good. I think there are still a few problems with stability
- (the system hoses from time to time - most commonly when switching from
- full-screen to windowed, or when a full-screen app ends). I also experienced
- the system hang on the WPS when I moved one icon onto another - all of these
- things never happened before these drivers were installed.
-
- But by and large, they've been reliable and well worth the switch. Now if only
- VDM's scrolled a little faster... :|
-
- Another issue - I have not found the netware requester for OS/2 to be reliable
- at all. I use C-Net ARCNet hardware for Netware 2.11, and when the network
- drivers are loaded, the system crashes randomly and experiences "bubbles" of
- slow-down activity. I'll be moving around or something and (again, randomly)
- the system will just pause and sit there - and then after about 3 seconds,
- come back to life (and inconveniently remember all of my input during the
- interim). Novelll wants $150 per event to ask about this, and I'm pissed. If I
- had bought the "Blue" version from IBM, IBM would support it for free. Instead,
- I'm told to call a technician, or the guy who sold me Netware. I'm the dealer
- and technician. Now that I need help configuring a new product (and really, a
- short phone call with more efficient adapter parameters might solve these
- problems - they could be minor) I am left in the dark, experimenting with
- different configurations. Did I mention I'm pissed? Oh, by the way, I have
- experienced several trap errors through the course of the day (EACH day).
-
- Just some random thoughts,
- Glenn
