Hi all,
I am currently running a BBS using PCBoard 14.5. I have been running it
under dos since about august, and now I have OS/2 2.0. My BBS has an online
CD-ROM, and I finally got MSCDEX to load so now that I can run my BBS under
OS/2 using a Virtual Dos Machine. I have heard rumors that there is a patch
for PCBoard to run under OS/2 2.0. I am curious if any of you know where this
patch is available, besides Clark Developments BBS. I would prefer to get it
via anonymous FTP if possible. Now that I have the BBS under OS/2 I noticed
when a user tried to download something using Zmodem, that it seemed to work
fine, but after the transfer, the users prompt is messed up, PCBoard says that
it can't find certain files. I am curious is this problem due to Zmodem and
OS/2 2.0 or is it PCBoard and OS/2. I would say Zmodem, because the BBS worked fine until Zmodem was used. I have also noticed that in using Procomm + for
windows under OS/2 that Zmodem does weird and funky things. I don't know if
other protocals(sp?) do the same things, since 99% of my users use Zmodem.
The reason for running the BBS under OS/2 is that it makes it to where I can use
my computer, and run the BBS at the same time. Windows used to crash quite
frequently for me, so now I am trying to use OS/2.
