- This is probably due to corrupted OS2.INI or OS2SYS.INI. And I have had
- the experience that many of similar unclear such messages are due just to
- the corruption of the INI files.
-
- The method to cure the problems are to follow the instruction described in
- the README file in the root directory of the installed OS/2 partition. So,
- when your machine works normally, print out the file and make the copy handy.
- If it is not available now, do not panic. Boot OS/2 using the Installation
- diskette and Disk 1 (don't go ahead to install; at proper position, press
- ESC key), then insert Disk 2 in drive A, at prompt A>, type CHKDSK C: /F:3
- (":3" is preferred because it does a more careful check and sometimes doing
- check disk without ":3" won't solve problem thoroughly.). Be patient until
- the work is done. If you have another partition or drive, do the same.
-
- Now you can access C: and can print out README. Follow the instruction on
- recovering the INI files, you have best chance to bring OS/2 back to correct
- track.
