  32. I mentioned the order because it sounded like the original poster had the ifs 
  33. for cdrom earlier in the file than hpfs.  As a result, the cd error got posted
  34. to the screen, a key had to be pressed, and he then had to wait for chkdsk.
  35. In this case order is important (and it certainly isn't the only case).  I
  36. agree that config.sys gets processed to extract certain lines first (BASEDEVs
  37. are among the first things processed).  Note IFS = lines seem to load in order
  38. with DEVICE = lines.
