- In a previous article, tmolbach@Lise.Unit.NO (Thomas M|lbach) says:
-
- >I have installed the GA+CSD with the new et4000 drivers. The 640x480 + 800x600
- >drivers looked OK, but the 1024x768 drivers looked interlaced to me. The monitor
- >(15") and the graphics card (2theMAX) should manage 1024x768 non-interlaced. Does
- >anyone know if it's possible to get 1024x768 non-interlaced with the CSD-drivers?
- >And what should I do?
-
- Are you sure that it is interlaced?
-
- If it is interlaced, you usually get a fairly stable picture but narrow
- horizonal lines tend to shimmer very badly.
-
- If it is 60 htz non-interlaced, the whole picture, but especially any solid
- white area, tends to shimmer when viewed under bright lighting or
- from the corner of your eye.
-
- Most 15" monitors will support better than 60htz refresh at 1024x768.
- Check to see if there is a jumper or dip switches on your card that you
- have to play with to get the better refresh. I believe you want a 48Khz
- horizontal scan rate or better to get 70+ htz refresh at 1024x768 resolution.
-
- If you change any settings on your card, be sure to run "svga on" again
- to update your svgadata.pmi file.
