- Hi. Here's what I started out with
-
- 2.0 GA + CSD + Win 3.1 Beta
-
- I made diskettes and installed from them (if anyone's interested in Rube
- Goldberg setups, try this: I stuffed the CDROM in an Iris Indigo, copied
- the disk info into a directory visible on NFS, and then used a PC with
- PCNFS to make the disks).
-
- Problem 1) I can't run windows at all. seamless, full screen, doesn't matter.
- All start going and then quit. If I start a full-screen DOS session and then
- type win, it tells me that it can't execute OS2GDI.EXE.
-
- I believe that this is linked to having Win 3.1 Beta laying around. I'm
- going to save off all my local stuff and re-install with HD reformat.
-
- Problem 2) I was doing a backup, pursuant to Problem 1) and was on line
- using Pro Yam in a Dos window. All of a sudden blammo! System Halts. I have
- a bunch of numbers I copied down, and if any IBM'er wants 'em, I'll mail
- them. I'm back up after reboot and chkdsk, doing the exact same thing
- only at 4800 baud instead of 9600, and I've not had the problem again.
-
- Incidentally I now have over a hundred floppies tied up in various OS/2
- versions and products. We need a larger media standard!
