  12. Okay. So now I've ordered the 2.1 beta, and the November PDK. I need now 
  13. to acquire a SCSI CD-ROM for a reasonable price. I would appreciate _ANY_ 
  14. suggestions, experiences, etc.

  16. My wants: CD-ROM capable of playing music, doing games support, etc., as 
  17. well as data storage for reading, searching, etc.  I guess I want something 
  18. that will work with multimedia stuff (SB, Gravis????), as well as with 
  19. "regular" data storage (libraries, encyclopediae, etc.). And it must be 
  20. OS/2 drive-able, and OS/2 friendly.

  22. My present machine: AMI Enterprise-II EISA motherboard, 16 megs RAM, 66/DX2 
  23. intel cpu, AMI SCSI Controller (seems to know Adaptec 174x drivers), 
  24. Diamond Stealth VRAM 1 mb. no-drivers-yet-for-OS/2-piece-of-useless-ics 
  25. video adapter, Toshiba 877 meg. SCSI-2 HDD, a 3.5 and a 5.25 FDD from 
  26. TEAC. I'd like to connect the CD-ROM to the SCSI, etc.

  28. I've not been exposed first hand to CD-ROM stuff, so I hope I'm asking the 
  29. right questions here. I'd like to be able to install the 2.1 beta from it 
  30. when I get it, too. So I could use a tip or nine about that!
