- Okay. So now I've ordered the 2.1 beta, and the November PDK. I need now
- to acquire a SCSI CD-ROM for a reasonable price. I would appreciate _ANY_
- suggestions, experiences, etc.
-
- My wants: CD-ROM capable of playing music, doing games support, etc., as
- well as data storage for reading, searching, etc. I guess I want something
- that will work with multimedia stuff (SB, Gravis????), as well as with
- "regular" data storage (libraries, encyclopediae, etc.). And it must be
- OS/2 drive-able, and OS/2 friendly.
-
- My present machine: AMI Enterprise-II EISA motherboard, 16 megs RAM, 66/DX2
- intel cpu, AMI SCSI Controller (seems to know Adaptec 174x drivers),
- Diamond Stealth VRAM 1 mb. no-drivers-yet-for-OS/2-piece-of-useless-ics
- video adapter, Toshiba 877 meg. SCSI-2 HDD, a 3.5 and a 5.25 FDD from
- TEAC. I'd like to connect the CD-ROM to the SCSI, etc.
-
- I've not been exposed first hand to CD-ROM stuff, so I hope I'm asking the
- right questions here. I'd like to be able to install the 2.1 beta from it
- when I get it, too. So I could use a tip or nine about that!
-
- TIA, and Happy New Year to all!!
