- It depends on what the manufacturers deal is with Microsoft. When I bought
- my PC from the local clone shop they had package deals available with and
- without. There was also the option of buying it with the system without
- DOS and Windows. NOTE: The systems with DOS and without DOS were different.
- The owner said that if he would have signed a deal with MS that included
- DOS and Windows with every system it would have been cheaper per unit, but
- he had a lot of customers that were upgrading that already owned DOS and/or
- Windows.
