  35. IBM scientists won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1986 and 1987. Other
  36. achievements include FORTRAN, RISC Semiconductor, magnetic storage. IBM's
  37. patents exceed 10,000. If you are interested in research, I would recommend
  38. the IBM System Journal or their Research and Development Journal where they
  39. publish all of the new patents from IBM scientists. The list is rather long
  40. every issue but it covers a lot. That's why Microsoft pays IBM millions of
  41. dollars (over 15 Million) to use some of the IBM patents.
