- IBM scientists won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1986 and 1987. Other
- achievements include FORTRAN, RISC Semiconductor, magnetic storage. IBM's
- patents exceed 10,000. If you are interested in research, I would recommend
- the IBM System Journal or their Research and Development Journal where they
- publish all of the new patents from IBM scientists. The list is rather long
- every issue but it covers a lot. That's why Microsoft pays IBM millions of
- dollars (over 15 Million) to use some of the IBM patents.
