  13. Thanks to everyone who helped me out on this problem.

  15. We seem to think that it has to do with the fact that I run PCTOOLS
  16. ver 7.1 compress from time to time which conflicts with the file linking
  17. done by windows.  Also, I run smartdrive which may conflict with comp-
  18. ress, even though I run compress outside windows from a fresh DOS prompt
  19.  
  20. Has anyone had any PCTOOLS compress/windows 3.1 bad luck??
