- I had heard that printing to a Laserjet would be slow in Windows, but I
- simply cannot believe anything can be as slow as I am experiencing.
-
- Printing a received fax from my Frecom fax program takes about a minute or
- two from DOS, but from Windows 3.1 it's taking almost 40 minutes per page! I
- expected a slowdown, but this is positively ridiculous. Printing from Ami
- Pro 3.0 is equally unacceptably slow.
-
- I have de-selected Print Manager, and am using the so-called fast direct
- printing to port. As I read the manual and help files, this should speed up
- printing, but no such luck.
-
- I have a 4 MB 386-16 SX system and a permanent swap file of about 5 MB. I am
- using Norton's cache, with an extended memory cache of about 2700 K. My
- printer is a LaserJet Series II. I don't know how relevant any of the above
- info may be, but I DESPERATELY need some tips on how to speed up my
- printing!!!
-
- Many thanks.
