- I have a problem with my system crashing when I exit windows.
-
- Many many files become corrupt and the system itself won't start. The
- windows directory is the main target for the corrupt files, and requires
- a complete re-installation, however I had to re-install about 6 apps,
- both dos and windows.
-
- The first crash occured when I had to reboot my machine before exiting
- windows, and the second crash was when I shut down windows and was wait-
- ing for the c prompt.Nothing extraordinary.
-
- I can use chkdsk/f to repair the lost files and then i transfer the
- system from my trusty boot diskette. After that, it's a guessing game
- to see what is blown and what is still useable.
-
- Can anybody tell me why it crashes and what can be done to prevent them?
- I run a 486sx with 8 mb ram, and windows 3.1
-
- Any advice would be appreciated.
