- I am relatively new to Visual Basic, so kindly bear with me. We've recently
- purchased an Arnet "Smartport Lite" serial comm card with 8 serial ports. We
- also bought the Communication Developer's Kit that lets you develop
- applications under Windows.
-
- My question: The Comm Developers Kit comes with a .DLL file, but VB refuses
- to access it ("Error loading DLL" or something like that). According to the
- tech support at Arnet, they do not support Visual Basic, but they DO support C.
- As I understand it, VB should be able to use it anyway.
-
- Their Tech Support also told me they DO have clients who have been able to
- get the board to work with Visual Basic and without the SDK. (This is exactly
- what I'm hoping to do).
-
- Any help? Anyone? I have been able to execute other functions in the Windows
- DLL files, so at least I have some idea how to declare and access DLLs.

- Thanks,
- Mark
