- A PC-based colleague needs help using ProComm for Windows to connect to a
- Unix host.
-
- He's trying to use Notepad to compose email messages and paste them into
- Unix Mail. The messages come out double-spaced, nomatter what we've tried.
-
- We've tried all of the ProComm options (character translation tables)
- but nothing we've tried affects translation during the paste command.
- The paste brings in CR/LF line terminator characters. Unix keeps seeming
- them as double line spaces.
-
- I've tried working from the Unix end via stty, but that doesn't work
- either. The best I could do there disables the CR key altogether.
-
- Surely this problem has a trivial solution. But I've been unable to find it.
-
- If possible, reply by email, which I monitor more frequently than this group.
