- Hi NetWorld:
-
- I'm trying to figure out how to maximize my modem throughput under windows
- 3.1 using Crosstalk 2.0. I've got an external v.32bis/v.42bis modem and
- 16550's on my serial board.
-
- It seems Windows will only allow a port speed of 19,200 and my modem
- manufacturer recommends at least 38,400 on up to 57,600 bps. I can edit
- my win.ini (I think that's the one I changed) to allow a 57600 baud rate
- but it appears my fax software (Winfax Pro 3.0) starts to toss it's cookies
- and not work properly unless I scale it down to 19200 bps. It appears to be
- a flow control problem to my untrained eye.
-
- It's a shame there's not a FAS for windows. I can do this under Unix :)
-
- Is there a primer or faq that would help me with this? Can anyone shed any
- light on my problem? Pointers, tips, etcetra would be greatly appreciated.
-
- Thanks.... Paul
