- I recently downloaded the 'new' version of PKZIP 2.04c from wuarchive (put
- there directly from the PKBBS as rumor goes). The files appear to be in
- order and are consistant with a non-hack version (Files are compressed with
- PKLITE ver 1.20 which is not available, all title/help screens are
- significantly different from 1.0/1.93/Info-Zip 1.9 ....).
-
- THE PROBLEM:
-
- Norton Anti-Virus (NAV.exe) reports that PKUNZIP and PKZIPFIX are infected
- with a variant of the Maltese virus. I routinely run VSHIELD at home and it
- did not indicate a virus, nor did Scan (version 99). I tried running
- FluProtect (FP-206A.ZIP), ThunderByte (TBAV502.ZIP/VSIG9214.ZIP), and Virx (
- VIRX26.ZIP) all from oak.oakland.edu (SIMTEL20 Mirror) and none of them
- report the virus either.
-
- THE QUESTION:
-
- Is it possible that the new version of PKLITE (1.20) is confusing NAV ? Is
- there an updated virus data file for NAV available on the Internet (by FTP)?
- Any Suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
