- Hello Linuxers,
- I am having problems trying to boot LINUX 0.99.2 from SCSI with LILO 0.8
- (+ the patch) from OS/2 BootManager.
-
- Could someone who is booting from SCSI and/or Adaptec AHA 1542B please send
- me the command to install LILO and make it boot from the SCSI drive?
-
- It used to work for me with LILO 0.4 and I stuck with that until the kernel
- required an upgrade to LILO 0.7. That's when it broke and now I'm trying
- 0.8 and it still won't work for me.
-
- I am trying to boot from primary partition /dev/sda4 with the /Image kernel.
-
- My current situation is that when I try to boot LILO from OS/2 BootManager
- it prints out "L" and then the disk goes into a loop trying to read something
- and never comes out of the loop until I reboot. According to the LILO docs
- this means that LILO can't find the partition information but I have that in
- the /etc/lilo/map and it hasn't changed since late last summer.
-
- I know that this is probably a one-line command to install, but I've tried
- EVERY combination of parameters that I can think of and nothing seems to
- work. I can even get it to boot off of floppy but not the hard disk.
-
- Any help or information would be appreciated....even gentle flames! :-)
