  12.     Quick, and probably easy, question about ftp in
  13. SLS.

  15.     After much effort, I have telnet/ftp finally configured.
  16. Well, almost.  I can easily telnet into the machine (loopback),
  17. but if I try to ftp, I get the login prompt, but as soon as
  18. I type in the account I want to ftp into, it says:

  20. 221 Server shutting down
  21.  
  22.     and that is it.  So, my questions with this are...
  23. is there a log file somewhere that I can check for possible
  24. errors? (something more descriptive)
  25. anyone have any ideas, if no log file?

  27.     My second question deals with talk...I keep seeing
  28. stuff asked, but never answered :(  Now that my system seems
  29. to be configured, talk still won't work.

  31.     I used to get 'Target machine does not recognize us'...now
  32. I seem to be getting 'Checking for invitation on caller's machine',
  33. and then it just sits there and waits.  Does anyone have any ideas?
