  22.    also have some crappy ethernet cards, and I need a driver for them.  They 
  23.    aren't even 3c501's, they are 3c500's - those big blue monsters that shipped
  24.    in '85.

  29. I'm sorry you feel that way.  There is no way to write a 3c501 driver
  30. with performance proportional to the speed of a 386.  What you are
  31. trying to do is the equivalent to running Linux of a 80ms 20Mb MFM
  32. drive.  Most people would probably think that unreasonable...
