  11.  I have finally got a small program to set the Diamond Steath VRAM's third
  12. video clock to the correct values for a 1024x768 screen from within Linux.
  13. This works with X, doesn't use the VBIOS or any part of the Diamond smode code,
  14. and does not depend on any previous clock settings. It does use the code posted
  15. by Batman 8-) about a month ago. Now I have to fine tune Xconfig 8-(. Also I
  16. have written a small device driver for the joystick (buttons only right now
  17. 8-)). It seems, from going through the BIOS, that the PC uses a timer to
  18. measure the time it takes a know charge across a cap to discharge through the
  19. variable resistor in the joystick. It also disables interrupts while this
  20. happens. How long can interrupts be disabled before problems develop ?
